
Rick is a 30 year resident of Leon County and the Malphurs family has been a part of the community for more than 60 years.
Rick is married to his wife Kim, and they have 2 children, Nathan and Madison.
Rick and Kim are members of Bradfordville First Baptist Church, where his wife Kim works as an administrator of Beginning Steps Ministry.
He attended North Florida Christian School and graduated from Wakulla High School in 1998. After graduation, Rick joined the United States Marine Corps as a tank mechanic. He served in the local reserve unit for 6 years and was honorably discharged in April 2006.
Rick works with his family at CJ Malphurs Septic Service started by C. J. (Granddad) in 1954 and currently run by Fred (Dad) and Rick. At age 23 Rick became the youngest Master Septic Tank Contractor in Florida.
Fred and Rick took a 50% voluntary pay cut in 2009 to avoid employee layoffs due to the general business downturn.
Rick enjoys family time, reading and FSU football.
